As a child he learned to play the piano and violin, however, it was through his voice where he noticed an instant reaction. As a child he was introduced to operatic style pieces, performing at the McGill University Pollack Hall. In his early teenage years, he joined a local gospel group where his love for gospel music began. At the age of eighteen he was one of the lead soloists in the 2002 released album “MY SOUL SINGS FOR YOU” under Salinasoul productions. In 2005, he was selected to be part of the mass choir at the world renowned International Montreal Jazz Fest headlining: the incomparable Patti Labelle, also featuring; Mavis Staples, Deborah Cox, Aaron Neville, Jully Black and the late JackSoul (Haydain Neale).

However the highlight of Dwayne’s musical journey was when he was introduced to the Becket Players three years ago. Being a part of this production and family was the perfect merger of what Dwayne stands for; community involvement, entertainment and most of all love for music.

“Singing has always been a source of release, an outlet for me to express my emotions; it is my form of prayer. I have been given a voice and I want to use it for the greater good”.
